Do you ever wonder how you can create the ombre nail look? Well, today I'm going to show you guys how you can create your own ombre manicure with 5 simple steps. There are a lot of different ombre techniques but this one is the easiest way to create an ombre manicure. Altough it's a very easy technique it could be possible that you should practice it a couple times before you get the result you want. Also keep in mind that every nail is going to look different, but in my opinion that just makes your manicure even more creative and fun.
You will need two gradient nail polish colors, I used a lavender and a darker purple nail polish to create my ombre look. Keep in mind that the two nail polishes you are going to use have to be in the same tonal family to get the best effect. You will also need a clear top coat, any sort of sponge you can find (I used a new kitchen sponge but you can also use a make-up sponge) and nail polish remover for clean up.
1. Apply your first nail polish color, you can either begin with the darkest color or with the lightest color. If you first use the darker color then you have to make sure your lightest colour has got a good cover up because else you will not create a good ombre look.
2. Wait for your first coat to dry.
3. Now apply your second nail polish color on the sponge and make sure you use enough nail polish so you get a good cover up. You can choose for yourself how much of your nail you want to be ombre, I mostly only apply the second nail color on the tip on my nail but this is completely up to you. Now bounce your sponge up and down in the same spot a few times and you'll see how the separation of your two colors disappears and they become blended.
4. Wait for your second coat to dry.
5. Now gently apply your topcoat and you are finished.
(First coat: dark purple)
( Ombre look when your first coat is darker than your second coat.)
( Left one: first coat is the lighter than your second coat.)
